Artist's conception of a Backhus Foundation
museum site, with autos, histories, and art gallery.
(Thanks to Gaye Lynne LaGuire for her wonderful sketch!)

The Backhus Foundation concept of a museum of collections could take many forms.  One such idea is to combine family history displays with the showing of a devoted automobile collector's "pride-and-joy".  Thus we would display classic cars, and have a family history display for each owner/donor.  Such combinations could also be used for collections like antique toys, furniture/room settings, art collections, or historical artifacts.  In each case we would display not only the collection, but include a family history kiosk, giving depth and dimension to the collectors' histories as well as the collections.
